Borsippa Organization: It is an international non-governmental organization that defends and promotes basic rights and freedoms in all countries of the world. Adopting a holistic approach, we work on both the individual and structural levels. We represent victims of human rights violations, women’s issues and child protection before the mechanisms of international law. In order to ensure that these violations do not recur, we identify patterns and root causes of violations on the ground, and draw the attention of relevant stakeholders to key issues to demand reform of laws and policies.
Our organization was founded in 2014 by Dr. Nuri Al-Saeed. We have branches and representatives in most countries of the world. We believe in the power of law to support individuals in claiming their rights, and to promote justice and freedom in all countries of the world. The principle of universality lies at the heart of our work, so we defend all victims of grave violations, without discrimination. As such, we believe that adopting a non-political approach to human rights issues, and supporting everyone to claim their rights, using a powerful and just means to achieve change. Since human rights violations do not occur in a vacuum, we are also committed to implementing a sustainable strategy to promote structural reforms.
