**“Demanding Freedom: The Case of Iraqi Prisoners in Iranian Prisons”**

There is evidence, data and witnesses confirming the presence of Iraqi prisoners held in Iranian prisons since the Iran-Iraq war. The number of prisoners is estimated at about 1,700 Iraqi prisoners, who are still being held in Iran without any contact with their families in Iraq. ¹

It is important to note that Iran denies the presence of any Iraqi prisoners on its territory, despite evidence and testimonies confirming the opposite. ¹ This situation raises great concern among the families of the prisoners and the international community, who are demanding the immediate release of these prisoners.

We call on the international community and the United Nations to pressure Iran to release the Iraqi prisoners held in its prisons. We must work together to ensure that these prisoners obtain their right to freedom and return to their families.
